Pros

Benefits for full-timers are a great value in this economy. The people who work here are good and want to do a good job.

Cons

Some of the policies and training methods are redundant and counter-productive to giving good customer service or maintaining a good environment. If policies are to be maintained, then they have to expect from negative feedback from customers. Also, there is a strong need to have store managers and district managers back up supervisors and managers who are following policy and customer get upset because they don't get their way. A customer shouldn't be rewarded for not following policy, or attempting to scam us, and we shouldn't get in trouble for standing up for the policy and the company.

Pros

Very nice staff discount. The employees are, overall, very friendly. The work (in the CDC) is very relaxed and doesn't require much skill. Yearly wage increase

Cons

Minimum wage and the wage increase is very small You WILL do work outside your job description The managers might pressure you into doing more hours and do work outside your job description faster. (However, when told that it's not part of said job desc., they tend to let you off the hook) Far from the most exciting

Pros

Some advantages of working at Value Village are it allows for employees to build their speed in a fast pace environment, employees are able to use their own judgement when pricing merchandise, all employees are able to communicate well with the supervisors and if there are any concerns, supervisors try to improve on situations as soon as possible. All recyclable items are given to third world countries, and items that cannot be reused or thrown away. Value Village is an eco-friendly business which means that this company is great at recycling items and reusing other items. They take in donations and sell the items that work properly or can be worn.

Cons

Some disadvantages are the stress level becomes very high as they have quotas that need to be met. At the end of the day, if quota isn't met then the employees feel unsatisfied knowing that much work was done and we were unsuccessful.
