Pros

Money was ok, they pretty much leave you alone to run your own territory. Fairly good service reps although most are pretty green. The product quality is still fairly good, but slipping fast. Alot of recall issues, not a great product line for a services salesperson. Coming from the manufacturing world I couldn't believe the number of salespeople they have for thier standard product when everything is sold through distribution anyway? The long-term Square D folks >20years were professional and technically competent.

Cons

Lack of inside support, lack of managerial support, lack of technical sales talent. This job never ended as they added more and more territory and made up product to your work load with absolutely no management support. Management is too busy looking over thier shoulder up the chain to care about the average employee. Specifically in NJ/NY the management was terrible. Constant struggle to get inside people to follow rules made up by management as you go. Always be prepared to leave this company as they lie to get you in and drop you in a heartbeat if it doesn't fit managements mold. I saw so many people come and go and come back, I got the feeling they really had no idea of what they were doing. Covered probably the largest territory for services for 5 years without a thanks, only what have you done for me lately. Too bad the French had to go and mess up such a good brand. Everything is "by Schneider", Square D, APC etc.. Tough to sell services when they really only have one or two products. The rest is all sub to an aquisition company and passthrough to make the services $$ look bloated and like actual growth.

Women Beware

Pros

Several locations to work from including on-site, remote or hybrid.

Cons

I worked here for over 10 years and saw the reality of how this company treats employees. This is especially true for women and mothers/primary care givers. I was part of a team that went from multiple parents, to only employees that are childless. Recently they even terminated a high performing pregnant woman. A company that terminates pregnant women is not one I would recommend. The culture has become a place where people look out for themselves and leadership isn’t afraid to throw people under the bus to ensure they are promoted. The HR organization truly lacks personal touch and sees employees as numbers. They promote people based on relationships and not on performance. Additionally, this is a French company that treats the U.S. as their personal whipping boy. Anytime Europe or Asia struggles financially the U.S. pays for it, even if the U.S. is exceeding their targets/numbers. Almost every year there is a RIF in the U.S. no matter how successful the year has been in order to make up for other countries. You are constantly on edge about job stability and your performance does not dictate whether or not you will still have a job.

Pros

- Good Benefits - Decent Salary

Cons

- Management is completely incompetent - If a person is of diverse background and unqualified they will be hired over a qualified person who is not from a diverse background. - Products are complete and utter trash - Management lies about everything (its called the Schneider Spin) - People who work hard get ridden as people who do nothing continue to do nothing. - They are so afraid of losing more employees that if a person doesn't do their job, instead of being reprimanded they are incentivized with a potential promotion. - Leadership is spineless. - Each department within the company is like a completely different company. They will not help you, they will treat you worse than an outside customer.
