Pros

I get to go over the road with my husband

Cons

-We are getting less then 500 miles a load per day. - was told if we work 12 days we get 2 days off and so on...only to find out its not true. (Have to request days off and only if it's not filled up) When ask DBL we aren't getting any miles, she tells us it's a machine error but it's fix and yet still less then 500 miles per day.

Pros

Some helpful personnel at headquarters in Green Bay and that's where it ends.

Cons

Where do I begin? Complete lack of training. (This is a big one!!!) No support from management. (#2 for sure) Deadlines dropped in your lap last minute. Horrible work/life balance. Very low pay for the hours, stress, and responsibility given to you. Disorganized and chaotic work structure and environment. Drivers will cuss and chew you out for everything, even though it's not your fault. Major lack of respect for personnel. Company core value are not valued or followed. Treatment of drivers and maintenance of equipment is poor at best. (outdated fleet and assets) I could go on, but I'll leave it at that, you get the picture. (I've been in logistics/transportation for over 15 years with a few other employers - Schneider was truly awful and left shortly after)

Pros

Decent pay, 401K match, good amount of vacation and most co-workers are easy to get along with.

Cons

Does not value education and it is difficult to move up. This is the perfect place to work if you want to make a lot of money without going to college. They do promote a lot from with in but it is a lot more about who you know than who is the best for the job. They claim that there isnt really hierarchy, "you should think of it as a jungle gym instead of a ladder". Typical large company that talk about its "values" all the time but doesn't follow them. I have seen driver reviews on here about their DBLs and dispatch. They are absolutely right, I was forced into the position with no ops experience. I had 4 days of training, which consisted of me sitting there watching someone answer the phone. Then, on my 5th day I was given 40 drivers. I consistently said I wasn't comfortable, but no one seemed to care. Even though I now know what I am doing, 40 drivers is way too much for one person. And a lot of people in the office absolutely treat the drivers like crap. I would love to quit but I can't affor to.
