Not bad but not great

Pros

The mission is great if you love kids and books. You get 15 minute reading breaks as well as your regular breaks. There are a lot of good, fun-loving people who work with this company. Management has a lot of policies in place (like reading breaks and surveys) to try to make things better for the warehouse employees.

Cons

Upper management isn't in touch with what's going on at the branches, and there is a lot of micro-management coming down from above, without much direction. The workload is always high, regardless of what position you work in. Depending on your position, the starting pay is much lower than it should be.

Loved Work but Micro-Managed

Pros

Work from home, plan your schedule, ok bonus structure & paid mileage, paid holidays & 3 weeks vacation pay after 5 years, 3% matched 401k and health benefits. Great for a mom.

Cons

Once saleried they own you, you're micromanaged, upper management has no clue how hard field reps work. They always add more and more to your activities to your schedule expecting you to get it done on top of your other work. No additional pay. Not much opportunity for upward mobility. Use your own internet, computer, printer, and car. Work long hours to get everything done.

Pros

Overall mission is good.

Cons

Management is incompetent and unethical in particular divisions. As an EA, I was due overtime pay - and told I should not report my hours correctly because there was "no room in the budget." Over 2+ years I allowed this to happen because I was scared to speak up - my own fault. Management in my particular division was unethical and incompetent.
