Pros

Salary is low Some experienced team members with strong historical knowledge. Working in the energy sector was something I hoped would be fulfilling and aligned with long-term goals.

Cons

Lack of clear role definition. I was brought in under the promise of a meaningful project leadership role, but was instead handed a vague remit with no roadmap or support. Inherited a team with deep-rooted issues. Complaints, refuse to follow process, and records everything—yet management has made it clear they cannot be challenged or managed. Culture of micromanagement at senior levels—breaks are timed, including toilet breaks. This creates a stifling and mistrustful environment. No hybrid or remote work options despite cpntract stating this, other teams having worked remotely successfully for years. This inconsistency breeds resentment and low morale. Unrealistic performance expectations set from the outset, making success difficult or impossible to achieve. Senior management style is rigid, with little interest in adapting to the team's needs or leveraging their experience. Very little administrative support; incorrect staff covering for tasks typically handled by other staff or administrators, with no backup or plan in place once my current support leaves. Concerns around succession planning Culture feels outdated and risk-averse. Suggestions for improvements are often met with resistance or ignored.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience with us. We are disappointed to hear you didn't have a great experience during your time with us. There are still improvements we can make as an organisation, and employee feedback plays a major role in helping us make those improvements. Employees know firsthand the areas that we need to work on to make work life with us as positive as it can be.
