Pros

Good products, good distribution, high market share. Campus is very nice if you don't mind getting buzzed by the CEO in his helicopter now and again. Supply chain seems to have their act together.

Cons

CEO fires anyone who is any good (disagrees with him), only lap dogs are left. He creates chaos by constantly changing strategies and priorities. Products are barely legal, the regulatory function is a joke - if EPA ever scratched below the surface they'd be in trouble (can't really tell how much active is in a given product, they just average everything out.) HR is the worst. They changed rating system 4 times in the 5 years I was there. Very arbitrary.

Pros

Great medical benefits - large gym, free fully staffed doctor's office and pharmacy. Truly engage in their business of gardening. Very philanthropic

Cons

The people take themselves WAY too seriously. They are a C-level team at best but think that they are the end all, be all. They are bringing in very seasoned and experienced individuals but do not utilize their full knowledge and then try to shove them in their low-level box. The organizations and even categories within the organizations are very much so in silos. Due to all of this, the turnover is ridiculously high and the leadership does not seem to do anything about it or care which I guess shows that it is the usual for them. It is DEFINITELY a "good ol' " boys network. Minorities and women will struggle and only get so far in the company. The organization is working in at least 6 different directions which are all working against each other therefore getting it nowhere. Everyone in the organization complains continually about the issues, challenges and struggles yet no one does anything so the issues continue and grow to be even bigger issues.

Pros

Good industry research experience, legacy knowledge (before layoffs), work-life balance, and benefits used to be good

Cons

Pay is "competitive" (bad). CEO has a track record of - and is known for - racist, sexist, and homophobic comments (sometimes on camera); thought the Cannabis industry boom was permanent & sustainable, leading to multiple waves of layoffs after Cannabis prices crashed in 2022; and insists on using warfare language for developing garden soil and management decisions.
