Pros

-Cool Product -Experienced colleagues across the company

Cons

-it’s basically Volkswagen rebranded as Scout -too much VW influence and processes to follow without any SMEs on site to help -required to align and get approval from VW before doing anything. makes execution very slow -hired a bunch of people in Metro Detroit under false pretenses, now expecting everybody to relocate in the near future to NC. -no career growth opportunities for those based in Metro Detroit, unless you are going to move down south in the future -company culture is very German like. Lots of disrespect and condescension.

I regret working here.

Pros

The potential is great. Perfect environment for only former and current VW employees to thrive in while everyone else is considered inferior.

Cons

Employee retention is not a priority. They will change employment terms and benefits with no notice. They boast about bringing back an American icon but are really just building an over budget, behind schedule obsolete German car. All decision makers are extremely out of touch and based outside of where the primary offices are located. Culture is toxic and executive leadership makes it worse. Departments compete for limited resources. They overcompensate to appear as if they support DEI causes in order to avoid unions.

Pros

Unique start up opportunity, pay is competitive

Cons

CEO is basically a car salesman or multi level marketing scheme leader, big words about being a Scout and how amazing the opportunity is. In reality the entire upper management team is short sighted and does not truly value when people “lead the way”, particularly if they want a scapegoat for something. Promotions are dangled in front of you, but always just out of reach regardless of the hoops one successfully jump through. The “people first” they claim is an outright lie. Be wary.
