Pros

As an employee, you can make a difference in the lives of scouts and leaders. It is the greatest youth program to be involved in.

Cons

At times, fundraising can take precendence over effectively doing your job; some priorities may be superceded by the fact that we need to get more money, regardless of your position.

Generally a good experience

Pros

You get to work with some very awesome people dedicated to a great cause. You will also gain a lot of experience in a variety of fields (fundraising, people management, finance and budgeting, membership, etc). The BSA offers FANTASTIC benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement).

Cons

If you aren't careful this job will over take your life. There are a lot of nights and weekends. It is definitely hard on a family. This is a great job but be cautious of working too much.
