Pros

Learn a lot about the medical process at a ER and medical terminology.

Cons

Training is extremely rushed. The managers are extremely unprofessional and have pathetic training in communication. In my case, there was huge gap between passing their final and when I started floor training. The online training they give you isn't enough to prepare you. Extremely boring; bombards you with lots of information cramed at once. Unless you really want this job, than have fun studying outside of the minimum wage. Oh, and in my case, you had to buy your own scrubs. Personally I am not interested in becoming a doctor or a PA. But I wanted experience in healthcare. This ain't it. This company uses people to work for physicians at such a cheap rate. "Make sure you document everything correctly or else the physicians don't get paid correctly". Yeah they make 100k and up while the scribes run around with them getting paid peanuts (minimum wage first 3 months, including training). More fun! No breaks or lunches! You do half the work of a physician and get paid enough to buy ramen noodles! Training felt humiliating as the trainers expect you document as fast as them, even though they know you have ZERO experience. For me, if you are passionate person who actually cares about people and want healthcare experience, go through a nursing route. Something more exciting, try EMT. It was an eye opener to see how soulless and uncompassionate most physicians were towards patients. Lovely how a 5 minute visits chalks you hundreds to thousands in payment. Anywho I went on a rant. This job isn't worth the stress. Volunteer, get certs, get a two year degree and work your way up. Anything but this. Know your worth. Also their interviewing presentation sets up like scam, cause it's pretty much is one. They know how desperate students are to get experience. Proves everything wrong with the present healthcare system.
