Pros

Learn a ton of medical knowledge, tangible experience seeing high acuity cases (stroke, resuscitation, intubation, etc.), exposure working in an emergency department hospital setting, great way to work alongside/get to know healthcare professionals

Cons

pays minimum wage. experience highly dependent on what hospital you work in (I luckily am pretty happy with mine)

We are very happy to see you are getting so much experience seeing unique and interesting cases. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. We truly value that this is a great opportunity for those looking to further education by going to Medical School/PA School/etc. We are proud of the fact that we are the industry leader and strive to maintain competitive pay in every market. I hope you are also taking advantage of some of ScribeAmerica’s other amazing benefits including employee discounts on things like computers, Kaplan prep courses, and even on Lyft.

Thanks for taking the time to review. At ScribeAmerica we are very proud to have such in-depth classroom training with ScribeU and floor training program. While this may take some time to complete your training, we really do try our best to train our scribes to become solo and be prepared to handle every scenario. We are also very happy to hear you enjoyed the flexibility that being a medical scribe can offer, as well as being able to work remotely as a Telescribe. Thanks for taking the time to review. We are very happy to hear you enjoy the flexibility that being a medical scribe can offer, as well as being able to work remotely as a Telescribe. We always recommend working with your direct supervisor to determine if you are able to be cross-trained in a different specialty of medicine, or at another facility, so that you are always seeing unique cases and continuing to grow in your role.
