Pros

I feel so fortunate to have worked with 2 incredible doctors. I learned so much from both of them, not just about medicine, but about professionalism as well and I will forever be grateful for the time I had working with both of them. Having a provider trust you with their notes about their patients who they care about is very intimate and I am truly honored to have worked with them and allowed me to handle such sensitive and important information.

Cons

I could write an essay but I’ll try to keep it short. If you’re thinking about working with this company, don’t unless you have absolutely no other scribing opportunities. If this is your only opportunity do not stay longer than 1 year because you will not get a raise. As many of the reviews state, pay is terrible and if you look at this company’s response to those reviews they point out the educational resources available to their employees, which tells me that this company either doesn’t realize or doesn’t care that they don’t pay a living wage and that they’re employees are struggling. As someone who worked full time yet had trouble paying for my basic needs, educational resources aren’t going to make up for that. After working here for a year I asked for a raise and a performance review and was met with a “no”. When I started training new employees who were set to make more money than I was, I confronted my managers and again was met with a “no”. After some arguing, my manager basically said that I had been making the wrong wage the whole time, so I got the “raise” and 11 months of backpay. The fact that they were ready to openly pay new employees more than me really showed me just how little they care about hard work and loyalty. The whole situation didn’t make any sense, I felt like I was being lied to and the raise was 5% but still not sustainable. This company takes advantage of the fact that future med school students need scribing experience to get into med school and chooses to pay them as little as possible. In addition to the poor compensation, managers were terrible at communicating. My district kept promoting students as managers instead of finding managers who could solely focus on their job. It took me 2 months to file a workers comp report because the communication was so slow. Anyways, I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone at all, I’d recommend finding a scribing job that’s not through a 3rd party company so you can make a livable wage.
