Pros

Worked with wonderful physicians. Learned a lot about EPIC. Training was quite effective.

Cons

Lack of management. Sometimes rude management. No real support when you begin working on your own. Very low pay. Have to time appointments and report them to management. Non compete agreement.

Pros

Scribing looks great on medical school applications. It can be fun depending on which doc you're with that day. Some docs get you lunch. Free snacks in EMS lounges.

Cons

Be prepared to work 10-hour shifts 8 days in a row without overtime. Chief scribes are annoying and unhelpful. Minimum wage with no option for overtime. (Chief scribe gave me 50 hours in one week, then made me clock 10 of the hours into a week I was only scheduled 30 hours to avoid paying me overtime). Labor laws don't apply to us, no designated breaks or lunches. No set raise schedules
