Pros

The experience cannot be beat if you're looking to enter the medical field. You shadow doctors and get paid for it. Any pre-med should jump at this opportunity. For the most part, the doctors are nice, as they've all been in our try-hard, eager-to-learn, starry-eyed pre-med shoes. If asked, most of them will take time to explain a lot of medical stuff to you. It's just a great overall learning experience. They do a great job of training you on the basics that you'll need to know for the job (terms, documenting, EHR systems, etc.) Floor training is very thorough and the company really wants to help you succeed, but that's because they're putting money into you. Your experience with floor trainers may be different.

Cons

My biggest complaint about working for ScribeAmerica is the management. Middle management (hiring, chief scribes, etc.) consists of all, well, kids. I'm only 24 but my hiring manager and chief scribe are both younger than me. Honestly, I think I'm the oldest scribe at my hospital. But that's not a super huge issue, we all get along. However, the place where the age becomes an issue is that they're not always the best at management. My entire hiring process was pretty smooth, but I have heard a lot of horror stories of even trying to set up that initial interview. Another thing is that hospitals are all variable environments. We are stuck using a DOS-based EHR. It sucks.
