Pros
Great learning experience, understanding the flow of the department you're in, understanding medical decision-making.
Cons
Depending on the department and chief scribe (who makes your schedule), the hours could be very tough, with a lot of flip-flopping between morning, afternoon, evening, and night shifts from one day to the next. And the pay is very low, especially given the rigors of the job, but it's kind of more like an internship that you'd do to get some experience before going to school, not a career.
