Pros

It's very flexible! They don't expect people to be long term. Most employees work for the summer while they are home from school. Plus it's great money.

Cons

You only get paid twice a month and even though the money is decent for college students...it's not enough after while.

Thank you for your feedback on working with ScribeAmerica. We are happy to hear how much you learned working in the ED. The medical field is an extremely demanding place to work and we understand the challenges involved. At ScribeAmerica, fair treatment and compensation for work of our employees is incorporated into our core values.

Pros

- Flexible hours - Anyone entering the medical field can learn a lot and build relationships that will benefit them if they are pursuing a career in the medical field - The company is willing to write letters of recommendation to schools and other prospective careers - Most doctors and other staff are appreciative of scribes - Pay is very good for the work required - Fairly easy to move up in the company if you plan to work for longer than a few months

Cons

- Training is long and unorganized at times since you must do orientation and training with both Scribe America and the hospital; communication between the two is sometimes lacking - In rare cases, some hospital staff are not always respectful towards scribes because some unfortunately think that scribes just get in the way and are beneath them - High turnover due to the fact that most scribes are in school pursuing careers as doctors or nurses; it is not unusual for some to only work for the summer or for 6 months or less - Required to stand your entire shift unless you are lucky to work with a doctor who allows you to sit during the office visit
