Pros

Great way to gain experience in the health field if you are looking to continue your education.

Cons

There is not consistency in your schedule when working in the ED. One day you can work at 5am and the next day at 5pm.

Pros

Good way to get clinical hours for med school Looks great on your resume Amazing experience to work beside doctors and learn about the field

Cons

The hours are painfully long. They kind of throw you in there after the classroom learning and day 3 of clinical training. I left because it didn't fit well with my schedule and there was a bad culture among some of the seasoned scribes at my location.

Pros

I really enjoyed working with over 40 doctors and PAs. I really enjoyed the diversity of patients I saw. I really enjoyed how deeply I got into documentation. Great selection of days to work. It was a terrific experience

Cons

There was quite a bit of downtime Some providers don't want scribes The pay was minimal I felt that my work was sometimes marginal and unnecessary
