Pros

Exposure to ED setting. Job provided a great learning experience.

Cons

Compensation, advancement, inconsistent hours. Scribes feel taken advantage of as the mothership takes cut much higher than hourly scribe wage.

Pros

ScribeAmerica is great if you are looking for a part-time, temporary position to gain exposure to healthcare prior to med/PA school, but prepared to work hard for little pay!

Cons

- Upper management is extremely unprofessional, inexperienced, and only interested in creating drama. This trickles down to poorly trained chief scribes. - The amount of "office politics" and favoritism is absolutely disgusting and sickening. Those who are friends with management go further with the company despite lack of qualifications. - To get ahead at ScribeAmerica you need to be malicious and tell management whatever they want to hear. You also need to do whatever they say when they say to do it, even if it means degrading or disrespecting your employees. The lack of integrity of these upper 20 year olds is disheartening for our generation. - All management levels are remotely managed which leads to little guidance on all levels whether it's the VPs to the project leaders or project leaders down to chief scribes. There's less appreciation for your work when they don't see it. - Absolutely no one in the company cares at all about the wellbeing of the employees they do not know. - Upper Management doesn't follow their own policies, so why do we hold our scribes to the same policies?

Pros

-Great exposure to the hospital environment -You learn so, so, so much about medicine and the critical thinking of the providers -Doctors and PAs are fantastic, super helpful -Coworkers are great (for the most part)

Cons

-Minimum wage for a job that has a 25% (or less) pass rate out of training -No night shift differential, which is really taxing on the body -No pay raise after a certain number of months, even a year -I've got my masters and I'm making the same as people barely out of high school -Higher ups don't seem to care much about the lower employees
