Pros

For the most part amazing experience. You get to see a lot, and some of the doctors are very pleasant and more then willing to work with you.

Cons

Major con- The project leaders/chief scribes have no interest in helping you out. Some doctors kept me over 12 hours for what should have been an 8 hour shift. In fact, I was lucky to leave 45 min after the shift was scheduled to be over. Scribe America does not offer any support for you. The project leaders are only concerned about keeping their clients happy. They could care less if you have to stick around for 12 hours, not getting a chance to step away for even 15 min to get something to eat. I had trouble even stepping away to use the bathroom.

Pros

Awesome experience working with doctors and nurses. The doctors you work with are normally great and probably the best part about this job. You learn a lot about medicine.

Cons

Pay is terrible for the hours you work. No overnight pay like other hospital personel. They don't like you working overtime even if the doctor needs you to help them. No real lunch unless you want to be behind in your work. Management of scribes is terrible. Corporate controls the supervisors via email mostly and we communicate via email which leads to a lot of problems and miscommunication. The company isn't clear on many policies either and you'll get in trouble for things you werent told. This stuff can make your job really stressful.

Pros

Great job with the potential to network and learn a great deal of medical technology. Working environment is very self-efficient and you only answer to your chief scribe on site.

Cons

Really no major con, great company. Only thing I can think of is that the hours are not stable and changes often.
