Pros

- Unique experience that is hard to gain at any other positions - Knowledge gained is invaluable and nothing you could ever learn in a classroom.

Cons

- Little to no room for growth (in terms of salary) - Benefits were cut after 5 years of tenure with little to no notice ahead of time - Strict policies and very little regard for personal boundaries of their employees

Thank you for leaving us this review. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. While having some prior medical experience can be very helpful, at ScribeAmerica we are very proud to offer such in-depth classroom training with ScribeU and floor training program to help prepare all our employees to work as a scribe. We do our best to train our scribes to become solo, and try to train for every scenario. We do like to promote from within and a large portion of our higher level management/corporate roles/etc all started out as scribes. If you ever have an interest in learning more about other roles that would be available to you, or ways to prepare to apply to those types of roles, please feel free to reach out to tasupport@scribeamerica.com and we would be happy to talk with you further. For any topics you may have, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at HR@scribeamerica.com so that we can discuss.

Pros

- able to experience different specialties, depending where you work - firsthand view of physician-patient interactions - allows for a mentor relationship with your assigned provider - you gain knowledge of how to effectively use EMR and learn various medical terminologies

Cons

- hourly rate is poor - long hours standing and typing at a computer - requires accuracy and the ability to work in fast-paced environments - my department was not offered pre-charting pay outside of work hours, despite putting in a request

We are very happy to see you got so much experience seeing the physician-patient interactions and with medical terminology. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. We are also happy to see that you worked with your direct supervisor to be cross-trained in different specialties of medicine, so that you are always seeing unique cases and continuing to grow in your role. We are proud of the fact that we are the industry leader and strive to maintain competitive pay in every market. I hope you were also able to take advantage of some of ScribeAmerica’s other amazing benefits including employee discounts on things like computers, Kaplan prep courses, and even on Lyft.
