Pros

If you have a good team they'll treat you well!

Cons

Messy onboarding and training. I may as well have taught myself everything.

Pros

Great experience for entering the medical field and talking to providers with years of experience. Close in age peers with similar goals. Liked how we could manage our time clocks and clock in and out just through the workday website.

Cons

Depending on who your chief scribe is you may or may not like how they schedule your hours. Scribe ambassadors only get paid more per hour when they're training. Chief scribes don't get paid much more than a regular scribe for how much they do.

Thank you for leaving us this review. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. While having some prior medical experience can be very helpful, at ScribeAmerica we are very proud to offer such in-depth classroom training with ScribeU and floor training program to help prepare all our employees to work as a scribe. We do our best to train our scribes to become solo, and try to train for every scenario. We work very hard to maintain our place as the industry leader and strive to always be competitive in every market. I hope you were also able to take advantage of some of ScribeAmerica’s other amazing benefits including employee discounts on things like computers, Kaplan prep courses, and even on Lyft.

Pros

Remote Work Some Work-Life Bonus Lower level Managers are nice

Cons

- Does not differentiate policies or treatment for 10,000+ hourly field employees and 100+ corporate full time employees - No 401k contribution or matching - PTO Maximum is 15 days a year for senior leaders, unless you’re in sales. Most people only get 10 days a year sick & vacation time combined. - Only allowed to roll over 40 hours PTO - PTO policy says you can’t take more than five days in a row off - Expensive and restrictive healthcare coverage - No Maternity/Parental leave unless you’re state requires it - Despite enormous internal HR department, HR questions are handled by third party - No internal communications, doing things like launching starting new companies without telling anyone, leaving scribes confused and fear their job security - Shared information on annual reviews and bonuses for 2024 performance in Sept 2025, with no raises, instead Amazon gift cards and 8 hours of PTO - No cost of living raises - Allow open annual reviews for members of other departments to affect review score after manager has submitted feedback - Has a required curve on annual reviews, limiting how high of a review you can get (keeps you from any performance based raises or bonuses) - Lied about and hid layoffs - Weird company culture that is not unified or supportive at all - small talk is only allowed about weather and sports. Others are punished or even fired for being “weird” or outspoken. Dead air at the start of calls, with leadership begging people to speak up - Brags about DEI team and initiative but they don’t do anything and are only there for show - Limited promotion opportunities for regional leadership and scribes, seem to be none at all for other departments - overall treat their employees badly, tell them nothing, severely undervalue them, and are constantly asking for extra work because they don’t know what they are doing with they’re business
