Pros

Great doctors! You can learn a lot. Huge time commitment.

Cons

They're just using people who want to go to medical school. Chump pay and you get worked like a dog. Everyone quits after about a year. Pretty typical. Just get your experience and get out. You get paid more to be a cashier at grocery stores like come on. If you need to pay bills- this is not the job. If you want clinical hours for that medical school application then you have no choice. It's a tough world.

Pros

-Great exposure to the hospital environment -You learn so, so, so much about medicine and the critical thinking of the providers -Doctors and PAs are fantastic, super helpful -Coworkers are great (for the most part)

Cons

-Minimum wage for a job that has a 25% (or less) pass rate out of training -No night shift differential, which is really taxing on the body -No pay raise after a certain number of months, even a year -I've got my masters and I'm making the same as people barely out of high school -Higher ups don't seem to care much about the lower employees

Pros

Gain some clinical experience/terminology, which is helpful for those who want to get into a healthcare career or are planning to go to PA or medical school.

Cons

The management (or lack thereof) is terrible. I never received the appropriate training for how to use the EMR systems, nor did I receive training for the specialty practice I would be working in. The management staff is very young (most of them in their early 20s) and they do not have the appropriate experience or level of knowledge to train others, let alone run a company. I often felt very disrespected by my leaders. The pay is also terrible, and somewhat degrading, for the amount of work you will be doing and the amount of your own time you have to put into studying terminology. The only thing that has kept me with this position is my need for some clinical experience prior to PA school. I will never work for this company again, and would advise others against working for this company.
