Pros

I worked at an orthopedic clinic for Baylor Scott & White and I loved the environment. Doctors are nice, intelligent, and helpful. If you aspire to be in the medical field this job is an amazing opportunity to learn. Most doctor's will even allow you to shadow them during operations if you're eager to get some practical hours.

Cons

Low pay. Don't expect to get paid more than $10-12 an hour. You don't really get any direct supervision from within ScribeAmerica. You will have a Chief Scribe that is technically your boss but you will have minimal interaction with them post training. The doctor you scribe for will be your defacto boss - not a bad thing in practice but it can definitely be a hinderance.

Pros

The interview process was neurodivergent friendly with the option to view questions and record responses through writing and videos instead of the traditional live one-on-one format. You also get paid for remote training.

Cons

I have yet to start on-site training after three months of hire and two months of completed remote training because there was a delayed notice from the medical scribe at my assigned placement extending their LDA, leaving me currently in a reassignment limbo for over a month with a company that resembles an employment agency than one I work for.

Pros

Great opportunity to connect with physicians, good clinical experience

Cons

Management is non existent. A lot is dependent on your chief scribe who often only has ~1 year of scribing experience and no managing experience
