Pros

The equipment available and level of work is cutting edge (albeit not for long). Also the people are their greatest asset, nice and easy to work with.

Cons

It is tired. Innovation is no longer a corporate goal from a long term perspective. This can be seen by the fact that budgets are dropping yet they still give ludicrous dividends. Seagate is turning into a sausage machine where raw materials are put in one end and profit is spat out the other. It is riding the last technical transition and that's it, if HAMR doesn't work then it would barely last into the medium term.

Challenging works, always deal with new technologies. Nice collegues. Great work life balance. The total compensations are fairly good.

Cons

The industry is shrinking. Suzhou factory is closing. Not so aggressive to SSD. The HR system really needs upgrade, really troublesome to employees.
