      Seagate is hard to beat in the OKC area.

      Pros

      Seagate offers excellent pay and benefits for the OKC area. The holiday and vacation plans are generous, and you accrue vacation quickly. The technology and work environment are always up to date.

      Cons

      The company likes to run a little too lean, so there's always fear of downsizing. Wall Street may never change their view of us no matter how well we do. The far west metro location is a long commute from many areas.

      Pros

      Interesting technology, usually anyway. Lots of interesting talent as well. Enviornment isn't very good, but its a day job.

      Cons

      Mid-level management is disorganized. Evolutionary approach, ie survival of fittest, management by chaos technique drives strong 'control' philosophy.

      Senior leadership and company sucess hindered by sub-par first level management

      Pros

      Big, generally stable company that is making money right now. Seem to be paying very close attention to market pressures, changing storage environments, and competitors. Great communication from the top expression company vision, short and long term goals and expectations. Local HR and EH&S work hard to create a pleasent work environment and maintain a first class facility.

      Cons

      Big, slow moving company disconnected with the individual contributor. First level managers ill equiped and sometimes unwilling to actually manage and motivate contributors. Reorignations locallized and do not seem to effect real change. Top level communications seems to be stifled by local frst level management that don't really buy into corporate message.
