Pros

Is good place if you do not found another job offer. After the merge with Kmart, this company was totaly different from the ones that was in 2000. They loose the focus of cleaness, shine stores. Mercandise presentation is terrible. Standards down. The associates do not feel the same proud.

Cons

They are driving business with out the idea of how their customers think. They think that Sears brand is always the first option from their customers. Service vanishing after 2004 merge.

Pros

If you work hard and excel at what you do, you can and will advance. They are usually fair-handed with promotions and recognition of good results. They are very, very understanding when you need time off for family or personal issues, more than any employer I have ever heard of.

Cons

It takes 18-24 months in salaried management to advance. This may be to the benefit of many who are thrown into jobs unprepared, but to those who can adapt well to changing environments and situations, it seems like a restraint on much of the competent management within Sears Holdings.
