Pros

The people who work for Sectra are some of the best, most genuine people you’ll ever work with. Everyone wants to see you succeed and is willing to share their knowledge.

Cons

The pay is an insult to Sectra’s employees and all the work they do. The resources for employees are all over the place and overwhelmingly wordy. This seems to be a theme as majority of the company training material is made up of lengthy videos and wordy PowerPoints.

Pros

Sectra really walks the talk with its culture of caring for its employees and creating a unique work environment. Sectra is big enough to have growth opportunities and small enough to have a true team environment. Sectra encourages independent thought, autonomy of work, advancement of skills, trust of its employees, inclusivity and work-life balance.

Cons

Sectra is going through some growing pains and internal deployment restructuring to get better positioned for continued growth. We need to continue hiring to grow out our team.

Great People, Poor Management

Pros

Sectra proudly boasts that it hires the Best People, which seems correct. The people you meet here are very amiable and good to work with. In addition, the work that you get to do here is satisfyingly technical and feels rewarding. Other pros: Great benefits Great people Plenty of work (read: sales) on the horizon

Cons

Unfortunately, Sectra hasn't been treating it's people like they're the best lately. Over the last couple of years, they reorganized the company. Since then, workloads have been increasing unsustainably. Engineers, in particular, have been over-worked and under-paid, leading to an exodus, where the remaining engineers have been expected to cover the workloads of their departed colleagues, exacerbating the situation. Worse, management shows no intention of slowing down the rate of projects to make the workload more manageable. Without improvements in the engineer training pipeline, hiring will not be fast enough to stem the bleeding. Other cons: Low compensation Mediocre work/life balance (recently) Poor management response to feedback
