      Pros

      The company’s general strengths lie in employees with consistent strong work ethics, attention to quality and the industry’s best service ratings and standards. The company offers flexibility and good benefits.

      Cons

      There aren’t really any cons because of the pros - it is expected of employees to be self motivated and able to handle a fast paced, high volume work load. The paid time off is generous but it may be unused by year end if a conscious effort to regularly take time off isn’t done throughout the year.

      Pros

      Securian truly values their employees, and in my experience values their contributions to the companies success. It's composed of several different divisions, all of which have a different culture. The company is extremely stable, and is known for going out of their way to ensure employee's tenure. Regular 30, 35, and 40 year anniversaries are the norm.

      Cons

      Although extremely stable, which is positive, the company can be painstakingly conservative at times. Advancement opportunities are often limited, and favoritism can (again at times) be seen clearly. Individuals in their Management Services program leapfrog tenured, more experienced, and oftentimes more qualified employees; but this isn't unexpected.
