      Pros

      Committed to retaining employees, once you're in it's not likely you'll be "asked" to leave. One of only a few with defined benefit retirement plan. Average pay.

      Cons

      Will overwork you for the pay. EXTREME hierarchy and office politics. Good ole boys club.

      Pros

      The company is pretty good to its employees and overall has done fairly well--results-wise. The individual division is struggling with recruiting and retention of advisors but the retirement area is doing well. Decent offices, decent work...decent pay.

      Cons

      Hard to get change to happen. They want you to drink their kool-aid. Many people have long tenures, but this makes it difficult to get change through. Lots of long term folks are just sticking it out for their pension.

      People either stay there a long, long time or leave within 1-3 years. Not much in between.

      Pros

      They are very upfront about pay range for a position - rarely see that. Generally their pay is fair. Training is generally good. Highest level management is generally very respected and well liked. They make good/ethical decisions for the company's well being.

      Cons

      In some cases too many people report to one manager and only the "favorites" get attention. Employees aren't generally treated equally - there is a lot of favoritism. Some positions aren't paid very well for what they do.
