Pros

This is an incredible, mission driven organization within the K-12 space. One of the fastest growing EdTech companies in the world, Securly has a thoughtful interview process that allows candidates and the organization to feel comfortable with one another- making your first day feel like you've been a part of the family for years. A hands-on training and on-boarding process respects you as a professional and sets you up for quick success. If you are passionate about next-generation student safety solutions, this is the place for you!

Cons

Must have a passionate, malleable personality ready to embrace positive change and growth.

Pros

Where do I start? Mission, Vision, Culture, Upper Management, and being afforded the flexibility needed to maintain work/life balance. I have worked in the Charlotte office for almost two years, and enjoy coming to work every day with talented people who are passionate about keeping students safe, and engaging parents in what their children are learning. The efforts of close to 100 Securly employees across four offices in three counties have provided schools with information necessary to save the lives of over 30 students this year alone. I have always felt valued, respected, and listened to. Every employee has had multiple opportunities, both formal and informal, to provide feedback about working at Securly. Since I joined Securly, there have been two occasions where proposed changes have caused concern. In both cases, Upper Management took feedback with an open mind, and responded candidly about the rationale behind their decision. One of the proposed polices was adjusted due to employee feedback, and one was not. The most important item to call out about both scenarios is that employee feedback was taken seriously. The health insurance is better than any other insurance to which I previously had access, and there are multiple team building activities including riding ATVs, go cart racing, athletic events, and numerous gatherings at local restaurants. There is a kegerator and a foosball table (both gifts from the home office) and employees are trusted as professionals to enjoy themselves responsibly and at appropriate times. We also have plenty of PTO (including your birthday), the ability to work from home when needed, and individuals are recognized regularly for accomplishments.

Cons

Securly is growing rapidly, and is not immune to some of the issues that come with explosive growth- like occasional miscommunication between offices. However, Management takes steps to ensure any communication break down is addressed and remedied. The biggest con is the Charlotte softball team- they couldn’t hit their way out of a wet paper bag. All I can say is the terribility is real.
