The only con I would say is that I wish there were more remote opportunities outside of the call center areas.

Direct quote from CTO during the all hands, "We're not looking for innovative solutions, or to use the latest technologies..." That's probably everything you need to know about the software culture here. That trickles down into dev teams and fosters a gross mediocre attitude towards software. Their favorite thing to say as engineers is "I don't know, that's not how we did it before." It turns every one of their software engineers into mids, seniors only exist in title here. Attending conferences or furthering your career is not encouraged here at all, in fact, you have to work around it. Hack-a-thons aren't really hack-a-thons, you are forced to work on a specific topic for a single day making it no different than any other work day. They generally don't care for you to learn and progress here, they have their mediocre status quo and do not want to even entertain innovations. The "vision insurance" (a.k.a only discounts at their shop) turns out to be more expensive and worse than just getting normal vision insurance. Embarrassing for a shop that sells contacts. Lastly, having been in multiple meetings with their orders teams, their main revenue comes from circumventing your eye doctor to sell you whatever contacts with whatever prescription. Your doctor, the one that actually cares about your eye health, is considered more of a blocker at SeekWell. SeekWell just wants your money, and are proud of the fact they got a new law put into place just so they could go around your doctor. They could build software that works with the doctors, but I guess that doesn't make the money.
