Pros

You can work from home.

Cons

Very low base pay, outrageously high sales goals, & they are constantly finding new and creative ways to stiff agents on commissions.

RUN FAR AWAY!!!

Pros

Remote. That’s about it honestly

Cons

I don’t even know where to begin! Let’s start with pay. I was told that I would make a minimum of $75k per year and could make $200k as a top agent. I was told in AEP you can “easily” make $10k in one month. That isn’t true at all! They didn’t provide commission rates until AFTER training. The commission is so complex and complicated that they made a 45 minute video to explain it!!! The reality is commission rates are very very small; as low as single digit numbers. I am stunned by the constant misinformation. Starting pay is $18 an hour but then drops down to $9 after AEP. Pay is garbage. Hours are long. Your pay is leveled against the top agents, so it’s not a fair game. “NO COLD CALLING” -Not true! You hear this statement made often and it is absolutely false. You only get so many “inbound” calls per day, like 15 or 20 as a TOP agent. The rest is COLD CALLING! They will put you on an auto dialer that will literally call the same people you just spoke with over and over again! I call it the Harassment Hotline! The leads that are “warm” are not really warm at all, but recycled leads even from people that SelectQuote has already sold! If you have any integrity, working for this company will require you to throw it out the window in order to succeed. They make you take advantage of older people and make them change insurances so you can get a sale, when most of the time they don’t need too. For those who remain with this company after AEP, get ready for “Clawbacks”. The very small commissions you made will be taken back when most of the business leaves your policy to go to another one! Get out before January!

There are so many better options

Pros

Current work from home protocol because of the pandemic is the only pro I can think of. Oh, and they just started expanding their holiday PTO to days like Memorial Day in 2020. Really progressive.

Cons

-Subpar training experience -Managers clearly have no management training -Poor leads, but that’s not new -Extremely poor commission rates compared to others I’ve worked with -Each department (HR/IT/Payroll/Licensing) were only available via email, for a company with thousands of employees…really? Who thought of this? -Lack of organization from the people who submitted my carrier contracts
