Pros

Great training - they train you well enough to leave and get a job anywhere. Work Life Balance is better than most because the managers refuse to work overtime, they can't enforce the agents to work overtime either. In fact, the company is well positioned to let you quit because the house will keep your commissions if you leave.

Cons

Culture, Expectation, Work Environment, Compensation. There are plenty of things about this company that lack integrity. The managers are glorified babysitters that produce nothing except heartache and grief for the agents that actually are writing business. They mistreat their employees (even after watching agents win bonuses and races, they'll find a way to make those agents feel inadequate). In the last 1 year they've had turn over of over 140 agents. The whole staff size is only 180. That's insane! Why work for a company that is either going to fire you in your first 4 months on the job (I've seen people fired in less than 1 month), or why work for a company that you're going to quit in less than a year? I'm actually embarrassed to have SelectQuote on my resume.

Pros

Free leads (though limited) Metrics to understand where you're at sales wise Top sales contests with cash awards. I won about $10,000 on just 2 contests. Small daily contests with gas cards, preloaded Visa's, grocery cards, etc.

Cons

Micromanagement at a high level. Too many reviews even if you're top producer. Broken technology...this is a calls center and at least one day per week, the phones would go down, or the sales system would come to a screeching halt. Leads were limited down from 14 per day to 8, and the delivery volume was only producing 3-5 leads per day which reduces ones ability to produce a higher income. Very high turnover ratio. They have more quality control people listening to your calls than they do sales people. They will pull your sale away from you for the slightest variance from script...yet the sale is still valid, so they keep the entire commission. Management prefers to humiliate those who are performing poorly for the week by pulling them away from the group and making them move to a spot in the building with a big sign that says, 'The Wilderness' thus calling attention to their lower numbers...and breaking down morale for those who are at the top of the game.

Pros

Good upward mobility, as long as you work hard. Flexible hours. Good pay, good location.

Cons

Can be a lot of stress, especially towards the end of the month.
