      Pros

      The health and 401k benefits are good.

      Cons

      Management is not focused. There is no direction or communication of where the company is going, therefore the day to day work seems senseless! I would not trust most of the directors to do the right thing, they're out for themselves.

      Pros

      Stable company committed to it's community, and doing the right thing. There are many challenging opportunities throughout the organization and business units, which gives people opportunities to try new things, and challenge themselves. The company wants people to work hard, but understands that employees also have lives, and that work life balance is important to many people. Always looking for ways to expand the business through sensible, lower risk investments to stay viable. Also great people and culture!

      Cons

      Being a large, utility style business, change tends to happen slowly with layers of bureaucracy. Many people have also built long careers at Sempra, and tends to push against change that they perceive as threatening. To be successful you have to be patient, and sometimes accept the politics. But that is something that every large company will have, and sometimes is necessary to prevent making bad decisions.

      Pros

      There is a very competent executive management team in place. Once people land a job at Sempra they seem to stay here at the company for a long time. The compensation is commensurate with that of a large public company and the benefits are great. Also, the location of the new building next to Petco Park in the East Village downtown can't be beat.

      Cons

      I would say the workforce here is a little older and less ambitious than companies I've worked for in the past. Not sure if that's a function of employees being tenured so long here. Also, promotions are less common than other companies but is ok since the compensation is more than fair.
