Good Product, Good Company

Pros

The company is full of incredibly smart and ambitious people. We're selling an industry-leading platform so there is instant name recognition across our customer and prospect base. Sales has the potential to make a lot of money. Flexible/hybrid work environment is also nice. Overall I've enjoyed my experience here.

Cons

The company is in a period of change, so it's not for everyone. As with any company, change is constant and communication could improve. There are several new leaders at the company who are working to improve this, but winning back trust through transparency doesn't happen overnight and will ultimately come down to consistency over time. Direction of what we're supposed to be doing is becoming clearer, but with lots of change, there can still be some confusion.

Pros

If you don't need a freedom to express and defend your views, you might stay long and enjoy nice perks, regardless of your actual job performance.

Cons

The key to remaining employed within the company is aligning with the CEO and his favourites. Performance and results hold little significance if you do not conform to their views. Witnessed numerous instances of abrupt dismissals due to individuals expressing differing opinions rather than being agreeable. Sudden termination of entire marketing teams and management across various levels without providing information on the new point of contact - this pattern is considered standard. Upon becoming an unsuitable employee, my computer access was unexpectedly blocked, leaving my sales team unaware, with no new point of contact and forcing them to resort to social media for contact. This confusion persisted for a month until legal intervention secured compensation. The stress was immense, especially while balancing breastfeeding responsibilities, despite five years of dedicated service, i faced demands to be physically present in the office for eight hours while the team worked remotely... When I opted for maternity leave, they asked for documents to be brought to the office. Upon my arrival, my access pass was blocked, necessitating police involvement to resolve the issue.

Dear Sender, we appreciate your time spent on sharing this detailed perception, however, memories of the situation may vary. Labor law and ethical principles is what we pay most attention to in disputable situations, and the case you described was not an exception. On top of this, we always stay true to our internal values and keep a close eye on actions that potentially breach them. Yours, the Semrush Team

Stay away - toxic culture

Pros

Smart and enthusiastic global sales team. I would stay away from all teams except working as an AE within the USA market.

Cons

- Horrible HR team both in the USA and globally - HR in the USA is incompetent. They are on their own schedule and don't care having any employee wait a week in order to receive a response. They fire employees without any PIP or coaching even though they preach to ensure employees have no surprises down the road. - My manager has fired or had five team members transfer in her short time as a leader and has not been held accountable for her poor actions. - The culture is very poor and everyone is very picky. They do not know how to adapt and be strategic with any of their programs and initiatives. - Everyone talks behind each others backs, especially leadership who are not born in the USA. - Russian culture is not strategic minded, they play favoritism and talk behind your back. - When joining the company I was informed my salary would be 50k higher and when receiving an offer I was shocked. The head of recruitment said sorry, I made a mistake. They know nothing about any USA benefits and they are the head of global recruitment - what a joke! - I never received a welcome packet or swag even though everyone else on the team has this - except for USA HR. - Pay is below average and they do not offer bonus only after a year if they deem appropriate. This should already show employees they don't invest in a new hire until they are proven which is a horrible approach.
