Pros

good perks if your related to them at top

Cons

Only chance of promotion is if your name is manning, company run by toxic management. Turnover is so high that HR management can't cope with it all. Don't even consider this company unless you are really desperate ! Everyone I know is leaving or very near to leaving. Run away while you can.

CSL Chemist

Pros

This is a great company for young scientists to start their career in the food world. You're exposed to many different areas of the food industry, and you are allowed to grow and mature in your field through the guidance of bottom management. The managers in the CSL lab act more as mentors and guides, and they genuinely want you to succeed. You will be pushed to work hard and learn as much as you can about colors and foods in general, and in the end, after five or more years of experience, you will be more knowledgeable about the food products of your customers, than your customer's own scientists. If you're a hard worker, who has aspirations of working as a scientist in the food or CPG world, get a job in the CSL here. Other notes: More vacation then most (6 weeks for more experienced employees) Pay above average Opportunities for international travel/relocation

Cons

No cafeteria on site (just vending machines) The plant and office building is guarded 24/7 by security, but it is located in not the safest neighborhood Dress code is business formal, even in the laboratory. Sensient does pay well, but expect to spend $500-$1000 year on ruined dress codes from working in the lab. Typical corporate bureaucracy is found here, especially when the execs up at corporate are involved. I don't think this is any different than other larger companies though. More work and longer hours than other companies--but hard work is rewarded
