      Pros

      Sentara offers great benefits to their employees and will pay 90% of insurance premiums if you are on the lowest tier of pay.

      Cons

      The pay is nowhere near where it should be for the amount of responsibility, stress, labor, and demands that is expected in a shift. There's definitely a heirarchal mentality there and everyone will let you know it. They let you think that they care for their employees, but the lower you are on the totem pole, the worse you are treated.

      Pros

      Great working relationship with medical staff, plenty of learning opportunities, vacation hours earned pretty quickly after you've been there a few years, EPIC for charting.

      Cons

      Staffed according to productivity grid not acuity, often work short staffed, management overbearing/unclear/non-supportive, Favoritism and occasional bullying. Pay not commensurate with work load

      - nice people - everyone greets you with a smile on their face - responsible - very honest and fair - cooperative within each department - love each other like family - keep it professional

      Cons

      - sometimes the hospital is slow depending what department you're in - extremely long hours - cold food in the cafeteria
