Pros

Good benefits, nice co-workers, decent pay

Cons

The Talent Acquisition team has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, it's being hindered by poor leadership at the top. The TA executive leadership has made several decisions that have negatively impacted team morale and performance. There's a noticeable pattern of favoritism, with promotions and raises going to select individuals, while others—often more qualified and higher performing—are overlooked. Some of the most concerning leadership decisions include laying off a top-performing recruiter who had recently received company-wide recognition, and creating an environment that led a well-respected recruiting manager with seven years of tenure to leave. While the company may appear well-run from the outside, the internal dynamics tell a different story.

Pros

Working at S1 has been an great experience. Cybersecurity isn’t going anywhere, and it’s been awesome to see us hold our own against some of the biggest players out there. The product is strong, and we are ahead of the AI wave with Purple AI. The company has been growing year over year. It’s definitely fast-paced, but you learn a lot fast. Being part of a hyper-growth company has taught me way more than I expected. One of the best parts is that the tech actually works. You don’t have to fake it. What we sell genuinely solves problems, which makes it way easier to get behind. Work-life balance has been great, too. I’ve been fully remote the whole time, and the company really embraces that remote-first mindset. There is no weird pressure to be in an office, which I really appreciate. However, they do provide us access to coworking spaces if we are not located near an office and we want to go into an office setting. Comp and benefits are strong. This includes equity packages, 401k match, & recently added fertility benefits.

Cons

We’re scaling fast, so some things (like processes and structure) are still catching up. It’s definitely improving, but if you need a lot of routine or structure, this pace might not be the right place for you. Cross-functional communication could be smoother, too. Some teams still operate in silos, which makes collaboration tricky at times. It’s not uncommon to find out that two groups were unknowingly working on similar things.

Pros

Working at S1 has been a great experience so far. There are plenty of exciting projects and exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. It’s a place where continuous learning is encouraged and supported. The recruitment process was smooth, transparent, and respectful—no ghosting or surprises. Overall, I’m genuinely happy and grateful to be part of the team at S1.

Cons

At times, it can feel overwhelming to keep up—especially if you’re new to cybersecurity or don’t yet have the deep technical background to stay fully up to speed. The fast pace and complexity of the work can be challenging without a strong foundation.
