Upper management will promise completion of projects to investors without consulting with their team. This causes the team to over work in order to complete projects. Most the time, the project is behind, or its poor quality. Reworking projects, being told better performance is needed, feeling like no matter how many times you push back on impossible deadlines, creates poor team moral. The team is so amazing and talented yet we consistently are viewed as incompetent. If realistic project completion times were given, we'd be able to churn out stellar work, on time. While the unlimited PTO is a nice incentive, I've never been able to take time off. How can I when upper management consistently overworks the team. You may be thinking "did you ever try to talk to them about this? " yes, multiple times and it was not received well. The higher you get in the management levels, the less they listen. Hoping this can be fixed somehow though I'm not sure how when ears are closed to employee feedback.
