Pros

They have koolaid. They tell you you're so pretty (but only when you're as pretty as everyone else). They give you free stuff, so you don't feel bad that you can't afford to buy it. You wear a uniform, so you don't have to worry about buying clothes (which is good because you can't afford them). They train you how to do someone else's makeup because makeup should be ordered from a menu, like at McDonalds, and it should be consistent and predictable, like at McDonalds.

Cons

The health insurance doesn't cover the doctor's visit for when you get pink eye from using the testers. You can't get ahead in the company if you're not a Stepford wife (It's for the best, because you'll still be dependent on your husband. Thank god you're married).

Pros

The pros are the amazing people I work with and the extensive training you receive. It doesn't feel like a job when you get to do something you love.

Cons

Only Cons I have would be the amount of time it took to finally be hired in the system and the anticipation of waiting and wondering if everything is going to work out.

Pros

Sephora is always ahead of the competition with education, innovation, and their core values are values I live by and believe in. They have a great bonus structure, monthly, quarterly. Gratis is another plus. Sephora is also technology driven, color IQ, skincare IQ are great tools for clients and cast to utilize to enhance the overall experience when shopping at Sephora. It is also a Fun place to work/great co workers. I have been with the company many years and love it.

Cons

One of the down sides is having your direct report socialize with cast and leads outside of work and also in store hanging out back stage when its very clear to me that the company is pursuing more selling time to focus on the clients and sales. Favortism is very really. This I am sure is not a common practice at all stores but it is I believe very unprofessional and frowned upon at Sephora or for that matter at any company. I feel that some people get promoted because they are favorites not because they are the right fit for the role. Its very hard to work around this behavior and being treated poorly by your direct report for no reason. There's no pat on the back, or hey great job ever. Development is another initiative however if your not a favorite its not happening. Work life balance would be another issue although this is retail and I'm willing to work any shift but if you make Accommodation's for some and not others that's called favoritism. Deceitful and shady and not a way to run a business.
