Pros

Working in the beauty industry Small discount Coworkers can be really fun

Cons

Lack of hours. Keep cutting payroll to unreasonable levels which increases the stress on those that are working. Sometimes we would have two people running the entire floor. Availability requirements unreasonable for hours promised -expect full weekend availability but only promise up to 15 hours a week for this -went for SIX WEEKS unscheduled because they "didn't have the hours" Changing standards frequently -availability requirements and weekly assured hours keep changing for all roles Lack of avenues for feedback -Flex employees are not able to fill out the yearly survey any more, despite some having years of tenure Unrealistic expectations -not every client wants to sign up for a BI, do a skin scan, etc. They still might drop hundreds of dollars but that won't be good enough if it's not a multiworld. Took away the yearly bonus and gratis for flex employees while not providing avenues for these employees to become part time. Training is a JOKE. These poor new employees were not trained on products or how to do anything for their job, just thrown straight into the deep end. Lack of recognition for exceeding expectations -Can be in tier 1 for sales, be VIA, and more and still be stuck as flex.

Pros

Higher than Avg pay for a non commission sales job as a Licensed Skin Care provider ($16/hr) Employee Discount + product tester packages every few weeks was always awesome Retail Sales Associates & Mngmt are actually nice to one another Great as a launch pad from Skin Care School or new grad Make Up Artist Able to aquire good Sales training and make up artistry skills & product knowledge training capabilities to utilize for future opportunities.

Cons

No organization, professional follow through, or business integrity. I worked there for THREE Months from once it opened until Month 3, hired as an LBA. I had received no Sales Commission capabilities outside of Skin Care Services that I was TRAINED FOR BUT COULD NOT PREFORM bc they never solidified their TDLR License to Operate from the State on that Level. So for 3 Months, All Skin Care providers were haulted from being able to extend their TRAINING REQUIRED & PROVIDED for the job, which was never utilized and focus was only made for MUAs & their Services to occur. ABSOLUTELY no cross over was ommited for the LBAs to supplement their time and traning for better work/life financial balance by issuing LBAs as fellow MUA for services in the store whatsoever. You waste people's time & skills making $ fire a company that doesn't care enough to accommodate the Worker properly.

Pros

Lots of quick opportunities for advancement, lots of free product gratis, a lot of product knowledge very quickly, my colleagues who are licensed say they feel as though they gained 5 years of experience in 1 year.

Cons

They are not living “beauty for all” inclusive message they repeat often. I’ve had to apologize for my managers behavior for making fun of clients in front of clients, I’ve heard racist things, I had to apologize and comp two clients baskets for free because I felt so bad and ashamed after a manager made fun of a girl for having a disability and another for being “poor”
