One of the worst jobs you can have

Pros

There is a chance working here may be better than trying to sell pulled pork at a PETA convention.

Cons

You are extremely understaffed for the work that needs to be done. Between stocking, resets, building displays along with other tasks you will need a staff of at least 6 full time and 2 part time people even for a slower location. You'll be lucky to have "the budget" for half of that. This leads to a reliance on day labor from a 3rd party, which is unreliable both in getting anyone to sign up, show up or do the work needed. Upper management will be on you about everything, micro management does not do it justice. There is usually a bad relationship with the Meijer store (the place you will work in) because you will not have the ability to fill the freight, get resets done, condition (straighten and organize) the product on shelves, keep the backroom organized and complete multiple other tasks each day.

Pros

This company will always do the right thing! ServU embraces change and technology and keeps up with things to remain efficient and effective with everything we do. People are the most important part of what we do, and we treat every one with kindness and respect. We value training and support and everyone has an open door policy - we want to hear about the good things, the bad things, your acheivements, your struggles. We truly value our relationships and work to improve them every day. Our work is important, but so are our lives - we work really hard to maintain a great work/life balance for everyone.

Cons

Our PTO and holiday policy leaves a little to be desired, but we are in retail and it is comparable to other companies like ours. This is seriously the only thing I can think of that isn't exactly what I have always been looking for in an employer.
