Pros

ServiceChannel was acquired by Fortive in August 2021 and continues as ServiceChannel, an operating company under Fortive. Fortive has injected some well-developed structure and business systems/processes that bring a disciplined approach to how ServiceChannel does business (Fortive Business Systems). They seem to have a mature career development resources in place and leadership, thus far, has been very encouraging and optimistic about ServiceChannel's future under Fortive's ownership. ServiceChannel is very employee friendly, with priorities on work-life balance which I have experienced myself as I've encountered different circumstances that have required me to focus on personal issues. Their flexible, "unlimited" PTO policy is truly flexible and I feel like I can take 3-4 weeks a year (not consecutively, but in up to 2-consecutive-week increments) without my leaders batting an eyelash. Since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, ServiceChannel is almost entirely remote and there have been no indications of returning to a compulsory in-office work arrangement to date. This afford employees an advantage in the area of work life balance. Additionally, if you are married to a particular technology (Apple vs. Microsoft), they give you the choice of which tech to use for your personal machine and setup.

Cons

Communications within ServiceChannel, and even from Fortive, are not always timely or clear, leading to confusion amongst teams. As is typical in any acquisition environment, there are some morale challenges at present while people adapt to new processes and systems, some of which are more cumbersome and less user-friendly than pre-acquisition. ServiceChannel still operates as a "smaller" company, with flexibility to adapt to changing customer and industry needs. However, it is also moving toward profit-driven decision making. Of course, every business needs to be driven by profitability and I cannot fault ServiceChannel for being cognizant and intentional about that. However, some recent decisions appear to be driven solely by profit, with a palpable lack of consideration for customer impact and that is contributing to employee morale concerns. Additionally, when we made the switch to Fortive's benefit's program in January 2022, there was a noticeable increase in cost to employees and unfortunately, a decrease in ease of use, coverage, and frustration trying to use the new healthcare benefits.
