Pros

A loss mitigation operation with potential to perform beneficially if willing to accept outside professional assistance and guidance. Please note that this review is limited to a section of services offered by ServiceLink at the Virginia Beach Virginia area. Other services provided by this organization are not part of this review.

Cons

Loss Mitigation Manager lacks the leadership and business acumen necessary to facilitate a loss mitigation fulfillment and operation successfully. Lacks direction, no quantitative reasoning skills for applied decisioning. No problem solving skills. Unfortunately, lots of guess work was experienced with their operation limited to their loss mitigation operation.

Pros

Generally good group of people. Development tools at your disposal are typically latest versions from Microsoft. Laid back environment and relaxed dressed code.

Cons

Mid level and senior level management is pathetic. Most development resources contiuously run around with their hair on fire typically as a result of poor managerial decisions. Management has a difficult time defining a plan and sticking to it. No 401k match. False hopes of a respectable bonus at year end. You have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke in the parking lot to get to the back door entrance. They can't control the temperature inside the building all year round.

Pros

Set own hours to work. Leaves plenty of free time to do things around home and do odd jobs. Good for high school students who have parents covering their auto expenses.

Cons

Must pay for own E & O Insurance yet compensation does not warrant the high cost. No mileage paid and compensation barely covers wear and tear on vehicle. [I averaged 3000 miles per month] Contract pay does not warrant a full time job, yet, company expects you to be on call every day to be ready to do an inspection with in 24-48 hours or be penalized. Many places inspected had to be face to face with homeowners on verge of being foreclosed on and consequently not in the best of moods, to put it lightly! There is a period during the month lasting 5 days when all inspections have to be done. Even though Sunday is included in the 5 day period - company rules do not allow inspections on Sunday. If Inspections NOT completed in that 5 day window, you will lose your 'bonus pay for that month' [this can be close to 30% of your pay].
