Pros

Meeting very smart and cool people that are all also on the sinking ship with you

Cons

I don’t know where to begin. Every process here has no room for creativity because everything is done for the Marks and how the Marks like it. People kiss butt to the president and CEO like ive never seen before. They are like kings in the middle ages, and the biggest turn off for me was the exec reviews as youve read from others. Teams have no time to actually get stuff done for the program because theyre alwasy putting together powerpoints 2-3 times a week that they present in Marks’ offices (the entire upstairs of the building, with a coy pond), for them to say that the program sucks or stop all the work youve done for the past few days, weeks, months. The way all the VPs kiss their butts is unbelievable, theyll talk in these exec reviews (Marks) and whisper to each other in the middle of the presentation, at which point everyone stops talking and stares at them waiting to be told to continue. Sometimes for minutes, its so awkward!! The second thing I hated was the micro managing. Managers need to know what youre doing every second of the day because theyre always battling with upper management to prove that the department or program is worthy. There are no good managers here, many are too young to know how to manage so they adopt what their managers do and what gets them by from the pressure they are put under. This is terrible. So they become awful managers and don’t know until they go somewhere else. This is all coming from someone who is good at what they do, and not an underperformer. So you know it’s not from a bitter person. Younger people will be intrigued to take a job at SN because of money. DON’T do it!! You’ll learn the wrong things here and hate your life. All meetings people loudly and openly talk about how awful it is and how they want to get fired. Every day. It’s not worth it, no matter how great you are, it’s not about that. Management is condescending and don’t truly care about your growth, only keeping themselves in Marks’ good side. Some VPs hate each other too- its really worse than a traumatized high school experience. I’ve been bullied here numerous times, and had men disregard me for being a woman. You deserve better, the money is not worth it. And if you get a sign on bonus, it’s not prorated when you have to pay it back if you leave within the year. So keep that check somewhere safe as everyone leaves within 2 years.

Pros

Health benefits. You got your own tiny cube and got free coffee. There were a few select quality people and products.

Cons

No respect. Constant backstabbing. People leaving left and right all the time. No concern for ethics. The HR has absolutely no respect for you and your wellbeing. All they want is to recruit and fill spots that are left by people... fleeing. Do not sign a non compete clause because after you get fired they will hold you to it. Yes. They are evil.

Burn 'Em & Churn 'Em (still the same old Euro-Pro)

Pros

You will learn how to develop world class consumer products faster than any other company on Earth by spending tons of money on travel to China, consultants and "parallel paths" while burning up really good people at a record pace. You will learn how to craft awesome slides that allow you to survive bi-weekly exec deep dives to fight another day.

Cons

No work-life balance - absolutely none - early morning calls and late evening calls every day with China, London, etc. No value placed on experienced workers - senior people are churned out to reduce cost No place for strategic thinkers - all strategy and major decisions are made by CEO & President - everyone else is there for tactical implementation of given direction
