Pros

I enjoyed the team environment. The main reason I stayed in my former position so long was because I liked my coworkers. There was a strong referral network and the majority of the doctors were friendly and competent. I liked that Sharp is typically on the cutting edge with technology tool

Cons

The pay scale compared to other facilities is low. I eventually left for a higher paying job at Scripps. They also require a lot more re-education and re-certification courses than many other hospital systems.

Thank you for your years of service with Sharp Healthcare and for taking the time to provide your feedback. We spend so much time at work so to work with people that you like is very important. Sharp works diligently to assure that compensation for all roles is market-competitive. RN's recently received an 8% - 9% increase from the previous year and increased tuition reimbursement to help with education. It's unfortunate that things didn't work out with Sharp but we wish you the best in your career endeavors!

HR was great to talk to about issues, majority of co-workers were pleasant to work with. Best decision I ever made was to leave!

Cons

Management was HORRIBLE and VERY unprofessional. Hire people who know how to manage and not play the gossip game and berate their employees and play favorites <sick>. They click with "kids" who have zero experience or understand what they're doing. Some management staff should have been kicked out a long time ago.

Sharp it's always striving to be the best of the best. Best place to work, best place to practice medicine, and best place to receive care. They stay very advanced with computers and technology. They have computerized charting and computerized orders, medications are barcode scanned, etc.

Cons

Sharp pays their nurses VERY LOW WAGES compared to the rest of San Diego market. Especially with how successful this company is. San Diego is too expensive to have this low pay!!!
