      Sharp is a good place to work

      Pros

      1. Very flexible when it comes to personal issues. If you need time off, you do not get a negative impression from management. 2. People who work there are there for the right reasons. They want to help patients and are good people by and large to work with.

      Cons

      1. Too many people "drink the Kool-Aid". Lots of people at Sharp over do it and are a little too excited about coming to work day in and day out. If you're really excited about healthcare, this is an awesome place to be. If not, you'll get annoyed quickly. 2. Org structure is nowhere near flat. Very top down.

      cutting edge, pushes the envelope, good city to live in, good equipment, some great docs in south bay

      Cons

      culture of back-stabbing in executive ranks, tolerance of unethical rumor mongering, hypocrites in some medical staff , medical staff culture at main campus unhealthy

      Pros

      The flexible scheduling is a great perk. The benefits package is decent but could be better. I feel the salary for RN's in the acute care settings (ICU, ED) should be increased.

      Cons

      They only offer $1000 per year for education reimbursement which doesn't really motivate one to pursue a higher degree or advance their skills. Also in my dept, we are forced to work every Christmas which isn't very family friendly and doesn't allow us to visit out-of-town family.
