Pros

Great place to work. The Middle and Upper Management that I work with are very open to new and creative ideas to solve the current problems. My current manager and I can discuss virtually any versions of strategic paths forward for the company's systems. even those that might turn the current paradigm upside down.

Cons

The pay is on the low side, particularly for those who have been with the company and moved up into more advanced roles throughout their career. Some areas appear to have a laid out career path to progress through, while others do not.

Pros

Shaw has a very good work life balance and they typically include all employees in improvement ideas. They are also very big on giving back to the community and do great job at mentoring younger employees. Relative to other industry leaders they are a progressive company.

Cons

They likeep to hire within, which is good for employee moral but bad for bringing in new ideas. Also the success that is had can cause them to reply on doing what they've always done. Compensation tends to be lower than other companies in the same industry.

Good Opportunities for Conformist

Pros

Great Benefits and salary. Excellent training and learning opportunities. Room for growth if you can stomach the politics and can be a "team player".

Cons

Little to no appreciation for employees. Most of the recognition of work and employees is treated with trinkets rather than general appreciation or acknowledgement of work. Employees are treated as numbers rather than individuals. Too much emphasis on image not enough emphasis on the individuals that create the image.
