I have enjoyed my time at Shell

Pros

Good employee benefits, competitive salary package, good company values. Provides good employee stability and moderate to good opportunities to grow within the company, across business areas, etc.. Work / life balance is ok

Cons

Large Multinational can be slow in making business decisions, lots of layers and dotted lines do not encourage risk, takers. Can be slow to promote people if not considered a high potential employee. Lots of bureaucracy and god-fathering can be frustrating... spends to much time on internal customers vs external customers who move our business...

Great Place to Work

Pros

Highly values diversity and inclusion, great culture of respect, emphasises a lot on health, wellbeing and especially the safety of staff, female and family friendly organisation (strongly encourages work life balance), opportunities for career development and movement, lots of learning opportunities.

Cons

due to the size of the organisation, there are lots of processes to adhere to (including stakeholders to engage) and things are carried out in extremely cautious manner that it will further slow down decision making. However, it is part and parcel of being in this industry.
