Pros

A fantastic org, at least too a few years ago. A good focus on future of the company

Cons

Excessive reorganization. Every other year there is a reorg. Frustrating levels of internal politics over the last few years. D&I is beginning to show ts adverse effects now

Pros

- You learn how different companies operate, how they generate cash, and what makes them risky or stable. - This builds commercial awareness that’s valuable long-term

Cons

- Promotions often depend on seniority rather than performance. - Many teams have limited upward mobility because the structure is flat. - You can stay in the same level for years unless someone leaves- Because promotions are slow, managers sometimes choose based on personal preference rather than merit. - This can create frustration, resentment, and a sense of stagnation.

Shell

Business Outlook

Pros

Strong work-life balance with reasonable hours and flexibility that's rare in the energy sector. The compensation package is competitive, and benefits are comprehensive—health coverage, retirement matching, and other perks are solid. As a major multinational, Shell provides access to interesting technical projects and exposure to global operations.

Cons

Decision-making can be painfully slow due to multiple layers of approval and corporate bureaucracy. Even straightforward technical decisions often require extensive documentation and sign-offs, which can be frustrating when you want to move quickly on projects. The organizational structure sometimes prioritizes process over progress.
