nTelos was a local company, very family oriented, great pay, opportunity for advancement

Cons

They were bought out by Sprint/Shentel. The pay is terrible the micromanaging from Shentel aweful and trying to get any support from Sprint a nightmare

Shentel takes really good care of its employees in terms of benefits and add-ons. They do strive to acknowledge people's concerns with the company, honestly, but this can be a con

They strive to acknowledge concerns, but lack follow through. It's a cultural problem. Overworked employees, and underpaid based on industry standards. Advancement can be there if you possess the "right" degree. This is a known problem from executive level. Forget your dedication and knowledge from years in industry- it's about the degree. It's a damn shame, honestly, a lot of knowledgeable people being under-utilized for lack of a piece of paper :( List could go on, but this isn't a bash. They are a 115 year old company, stuck in a 1950's mentality.
